Zingy Apple & Celery Juice

This anti-inflammatory juice is ideal after yoga or strength training workouts.  The celery in the drink is also a wonderful electrolyte and the other ingredients help decrease body inflammation that can occur after a straining workout.

TIP:  this juice will separate on standing, however a quick stir will bring it all back together.

NOTE:  This recipe requires a juicer.  If you don't have one, you can put the ingredients into a blender and then use a strainer to remove the solids from the juice.

Ingredients

  • 3 Green Apples, cored, quartered to fit into your particular juicer
  • 2 stalks celery, untrimmed
  • 1 medium lemon, peeled, quartered
  • 1 piece (1-1/2 inches) fresh ginger, unpeeled
  • 1 piece (3-1/4 inches) fresh turmeric root, unpeeled

Directions

  1. Wash all ingredients and chop into the appropriate size for your juicer
  2. Push all ingredients through the juice extractor, then give it a stir
  3. Pour over small amount of ice into 2 glasses and serve immediately with celery sticks

Notes

Ice makes this drink colder which some people find to be more refreshing.  You don't have to use ice if you prefer your drinks at room temperature
